| when the air force approached us to refurbish their bar at the air force offices mess, we were faced with the challenge of creating an exciting watering whole from a long dark bogey like space on an extremely stringent budget. but we have used the linearity of the space to our advantage, stripping down windows, adding a new flexi glass roofs, drawing out a runway to create an in flight ambience. aircraft wreckage salvaged from the air force scrap yard has been enthused with a new lease of life. contexts have been re-written. mirror mosaic bursts into a myriad of images. the design professes the manifesto for the new millennium. the 3r's, reduce, reuse and recycle. the wreckage is intricately linked to the design making the ambience unique and an irreplicable entity with distinct identity.
