a
  green valley, a 150 acre resort near bangalore offers the citizens of the city a welcome respite from the rapid urbanization of bangalore. the design brief called for a 'to the earth' design, besides laying emphasis on environment friendly design, local materials and energy conscious architecture. set on the rocks, the contoured site with storm water streams and breath-taking views formed a very picturesque setting. these elements of nature had to be the main theme of the programme. transition spaces are in the form of deep verandahs, enveloping the clubhouse all around. overlooking the outdoor dining spaces and the swimming pools behind, the walls are adorned with the handwork of the masons who have created lively pattern with broken tiles. terracotta tile flooring, clay urns, rough stone columns, stone walls, steel brackets supporting the roof trusses and a massive stone-arch form the ideal setting for a rustic atmosphere.
