| a weekend home for the clients at kodaikanal. this building has been designed in two levels because of the natural contours of the land. a portion of the old house that has also been retained while designing the home. the general spaces and a guest bedroom are at the ground level & the family with other bedrooms are at the upper level connected by a staircase and a bridge. the view and the lay of land dictated the position of spaces inside the home.
natural materials like stone & wood have been used to blend the building with the natural landscape. wood logs have been extensively used both as a structural element and also as an aesthetic element. the entrance porch has been supported on a wooden log which is the highlight of the building..... |
